  • It is a program with individual departures all year round.

  • The program starts with the arrival at Lima in the afternoon/night. So early check-in is not included if pax arrives in the morning.
  • The speed limit for touristic transportation in Peruvian roads is 90 km/h.
DESCRIPTION

1st day Arrival in Lima (154 masl)
Arrival at Lima's international airport in the afternoon or night. Meeting with our personnel, transfer and lodging in hotel (private service, English-speaking assistant). Overnight.

2nd day Lima / Nasca (588 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the station and departure by public bus to Nasca (km 450, schedule subject to change: 07.00/14.30). Arrival to Nasca, reception and transfer to hotel. Optional: transfer to the local airport to flight over the Nasca Lines (almost 35-minute journey – sharing aircraft and English/Spanish-speaking pilot guide – weather conditions could delay or cancel the excursion). Dinner at restaurant. Overnight.

3rd day Nasca / Cusco (sandboarding) (3.399 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer (30min) to the slopes of the Peruvian Andes. Start the walk ascending (4h) through the mountains to reach the summit of Cerro Blanco, the highest dune in the world (2.078mt). While taking a break, a safety briefing will be given to then begin to practice sandboarding on one of the many dunes that are in the top. Once prepared, you will descend the last slope that is 1,000 meters high. After the big jump, travelers will walk (1h) to where the vehicles which will take them back to Nasca are (private service, Spanish-speaking guide). Room available on site until transfer to the station to take the bus line to Cusco (20.30pm/11.30am+1). Overnight on board.

4th day Cusco
Arrival in Cusco, reception and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, visit the historical center (entrance to the Cathedral and Convent of Santo Domingo / archaeological complex of Coricancha included) and the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay (collective service, Spanish/English-speaking guide). Overnight.

5th day Cusco / Urubamba River / Cusco (rafting)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer from Cusco to Pachar community in the Sacred Valley, where we will receive the rafting equipment and a safety briefing. After a little practice, we begin our journey through calm waters, while admiring spectacular views and archaeological remains. Then begin to experience class II and III rapids to end in "the slide", a strong class III that includes waves and small whirlpools. After the tour, you will have lunch at a traditional restaurant located on the banks of the river and managed by the local community. Finally, return to Cusco (private service, English-speaking guide). Overnight.
Note: For security reasons from mid-April to mid-December, we traverse the section of Ollantaytambo, and from mid-December to mid-April, Urcos-Piñipampa section, south of Cusco.

6th day Cusco (trekking)
INCA TRAIL OPTION
Transfer from hotel to Km 82, where we will have breakfast. Home of the trail (2h) to the archaeological site of Llactapata (2.590mt), where you can see breathtaking scenery of flora, fauna, indigenous Inca traditions, and archaeological sites that show the importance of this valley. After lunch, ascend slightly (2h) by a semi-tropical valley, to the camp in Huayllabamba (2.866mt) where you will dine and spend the night.

OPTION LARES
Transfer from Cusco or the Sacred Valley to the town of Calca (2.940m), and then start the climb (4.30h) to the town of Lares, where you can enjoy relaxing bath in the hot springs. The trek starts (3.30h) until Huaca Wasi (3.600mt) after lunch. Dinner and overnight.
** If there is no space for the Inca Trail, trekking to Lares will be performed.
*** The trekking services are private with English/Spanish-speaking guide.

7th day Cusco (trekking)
INCA TRAIL OPTION
This day is considered the most exhausting, as it reaches the highest point of the entire route, known as the Huarmi Huañusca pass (4.200m). After breakfast, climb (2h) between abundant vegetation with trees of wild origin (for this reason it is known as the world's highest forest at 3.800mt). From there to the highest point, it is a typical Andean mountain covered with bunch grass or straw. After an arduous trek (5h), one reaches the highest point, where one can see the majesty of the Andes, deep valleys and if weather conditions are favorable, one can see the over flight of the Condors. After the break, we descend to the second camp at Pacaymayu (3.500mt). Overnight.

OPTION LARES
After breakfast, starts the most demanding day of the entire trek. It begins with the ascent to the pass of Ipsayccasa (4.500mt), descending to the lake of Ipsaycocha. After lunch, the expedition restarts to descend to our campsite in the community of Patacancha (3.800mt). Dinner and overnight.

8th day Cusco (trekking)
INCA TRAIL OPTION
After breakfast, the hour and a half walk restarts to reach the archaeological site of Runcuracay (3.780mt), interesting for its construction. After the walk (30m), one descends to the archaeological site of Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Huiñay Huayna. Most of the route of this day is the original Inca Trail, which is perfectly preserved. We will pass through Inca tunnels, lookouts, and jungle featuring abundant flora and fauna (especially with a great variety of orchids and hummingbirds). Finally, we reach the third camp on Huiñay Huayna (2.650mt). Overnight.

OPTION LARES
Breakfast. The tour begins with a descent down the Patacancha valley spotting along the way peasant communities as Willoq and Pumamarka, among others. These communities still maintain customs and traditions taught by our ancestors throughout the Tawantinsuyu Empire. We reach Ollantaytambo (2.850mt), which features archaeological sites, a broad history and an Andean anthropology experience in these times. The time of this hike is 4 hours with warm weather during the day and cold at night. At night, take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes town (2.050mt), where we will spend the night in a hostel.

9th day Cusco (trekking)
INCA TRAIL OPTION
After breakfast, we start at 4am to arrive, after a walk of 40 minutes, Intipunku (Sun Gate), where there is the first impressive sight of the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu (2.400mt), surrounded by vegetated mountains, rivers and valleys. Descend to the citadel to visit the most important places. There is an opportunity to freely explore the exotic tranquility of the lost city of the Incas. In the afternoon, transfer to the station on foot to take the Expedition train to Poroy (almost 3.30-hour journey – subject to availability). At Poroy, transfer to Cusco (30m) and lodging in the hotel. Overnight.

OPTION LARES
Very early in the morning, take the first bus to Machu Picchu (2.400mt) for the guided tour (2.30h). After the visit, there is an opportunity to freely explore the exotic tranquility of the lost city of the Incas. In the afternoon, transfer to the station on foot to take the Expedition train to Poroy (almost 3.30-hour journey – subject to availability). At Poroy, transfer to Cusco (30m) and lodging in the hotel. Overnight.
The train ticket, allows the transport clients and their hand luggage (01 bag or backpack) with a weight of no more than 05kg/11lb and with a maximum size of 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + height + width ), with the cars intended for this purpose.
The main luggage will stay in the hotel of Cusco.

10th day Cusco / Puerto Maldonado (jungle) (149 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to airport and departure on itinerary domestic flight to Puerto Maldonado. Reception at the airport and transfer to the lodge along the Madre de Dios River. After lunch, 2-3 hour jungle trek where the guide will show you tropical trees, medicinal plants and the abundance of nature guards. Before dinner, nightly boat trip to go caiman spotting. Return to the lodge to have dinner.
** During the stay in Puerto Maldonado, collective services with Spanish/English guide.

11th day Lodge / Alrededores / Lodge
Breakfast. In the morning, visit the Sandoval Lake, natural habitat of river lions, piranhas, birds, fish and monkeys, and the Monkey Island to observe different monkey species. Return to the lodge to have lunch. In the afternoon, visit a lookout towers with a height of 20 and 42 meters and designed for birdwatching and viewing of other types of animals living at this altitude. In addition, you will enjoy an incredible view of the sunset. Return to the lodge to have dinner.

12th day Lodge / Puerto Maldonado / Cusco
At sunrise, we will walk to a parrot clay lick situated at a stream protected by the Tambopata Candamo National Reserve in order to enjoy the multicolored spectacle of dozens of parrots feeding. After breakfast, the boat will take us back to the city. There we will visit the local market to show you agricultural products of the region, especially fruits of the Amazon. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco. At the arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.

13th day Cusco / Puno (3.827 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to station to take the touristic bus to Puno, lunch buffet at Sicuani (km. 380, schedule could changes: 08.00/17.00) (collective service, Spanish/English-speaking guide). Along the way, visit the chapel of Andahuaylillas, the Raqchi ruins and the Pukara Museum. At Puno, transfer and lodging in the hotel. Overnight.

14th day Puno / Lago Titicaca / Puno (kayaking)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer (6am) from the hotel to the Isla Esteves. Canoeing starts by paddling (1h) to the floating islands of Uros in the highest navigable lake in the world (3.812mt), admiring during the voyage a great variety of flora and fauna. After the visit, transfer (1.30h) by motor boat to the peninsula of Llachón, and then paddle (1.30h) to Taquile Island. Here one can observe the way of life of the inhabitants, their customs, traditions, and crafts among others. Finally, return to Puno by motor boat. Transfer to hotel (6-7pm) (private service, English-speaking guide). Overnight.

15th day Puno / Lima (horses)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the Chingarani hacienda, where the horses are and where a brief talk will be given about the adventure. Begin the horseback ride that will allow us to appreciate beautiful landscapes, livestock, agriculture, flora and fauna, the Umayo Lake and an overview of the archaeological complex of Sillustani. In time, transfer to the airport and depart on scheduled domestic flight to Lima route (private service, English-speaking guide). In Lima, transfer to hotel. Overnight.

16th day Departure from Lima
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport at the proper time for departure (passengers are requested to be at the airport 3 hours before international flight).

    NOTE: In Lima, in/out transfers from 2 to 4 pax will be assisted by our Spanish-speaking driver, except for the international arrival transfer, which is always attended by our Spanish/English-speaking personnel.
