DESCRIPTION

1st day Arrival in Lima (154 masl)
Arrival at Lima's international airport in the afternoon or night. Meeting with our personnel, transfer and lodging in hotel (private service, English-speaking local assistant). Overnight.

2nd day Lima / Arequipa
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer from the hotel (9:45am) to the colonial and bohemian quarter of Barranco to visit a small shop of artisan roasting coffee where every day, best-quality beans are selected to produce the best Peruvian organic coffee in town. Following this, we will visit a secret garden to try a lucuma milkshake right underneath the tree that bears this fruit. We will then go to a traditional marketplace in the San Isidro district to try some local fruits and know about their influence in the international cuisine development. The following stop is at the Embarcadero 41 Restaurant, one of the best ceviche spots located in the Miraflores district. Here, you will have the opportunity to prepare Pisco sour with a professional bartender, and will discover the secrets for a perfect ceviche by preparing it along with the main chef. Our last stop will be at the Huaca Pucllana for a gourmet Peruvian lunch. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Arequipa. At the arrival, transfer and lodging in the hotel. Overnight.

3rd day Arequipa
Breakfast in hotel. Gastronomic tour (5h) (private service, English-speaking local guide): visit to Yanahuara, Cayma and Carmen Alto, from where there is a panoramic view of the volcanoes and farming areas of the city, and then visit the San Camilo food market, the oldest in the city. After that, go to the Cabildo Grill & Wine Restaurant to prepare two dishes of the Arequipa cuisine. Finally, taste the prepared dishes and a tourist menu. In the afternoon, walking tour to visit historical center and Santa Catalina Convent (private service, English-speaking local guide). Overnight.

4th day Arequipa / Cusco (3.399 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco. At the arrival, transfer and lodging in the hotel. Morning is at leisure.
In the afternoon, excursion to visit the historical center (fee entrance to the Cathedral and Santo Domingo/Coricancha are included) and the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay (private service, English-speaking local guide). In the evening, dinner at Chicha Restaurant owned by the famous Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio. Overnight.

5th day Cusco
Breakfast in hotel. At 10am, transfer to the Piuray Lagoon for a culinary class (collective service, English/Spanish-speaking local guide), composed for starter, a main course and native potatoes. In addition, a testing of local fruits as dessert. After 6 hours of this experience, return to Cusco. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight.

6th day Cusco / Sacred Valley (2.846 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Full day excursion to visit the towns of Chinchero and Maras, the Inca's salt mines, and the ancient farm laboratory of Moray (private services, English-speaking local guide), including lunch at the Hacienda Huayoccari. Overnight.

7th day Sacred Valley
Breakfast in hotel. Day dedicated to the pachamanca (7h) (private services, English-speaking local guide): Transfer to a local market located in Urubamba. From the marketplace, passengers will be transferred to our lunch spot near Ollantaytambo, where they will meet their cooks that will teach them how to elaborate a traditional Pachamanca. After helping preparing the ingredients and placing them under ground and have to wait for a while, passengers will enjoy a Mother earth or Pachamama ceremony, which is a worshiping mother Earth and thanking her for the food they will eat. Then the Pachamanca will be opened and dishes will be served. After lunch, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight.

8th day Sacred Valley / Aguas Calientes (2.040 masl)
Breakfast in hotel. Excursion to visit the Pisaq market and the Ollantaytambo fortress (private service, English-speaking local guide). Then, transfer to Ollantaytambo's station to take the Vistadome train (almost 1.30-hour journey – 1st class, subject to availability) to Machu Picchu town. At the arrival, transfer to the hotel on foot. Dinner and overnight.
** If this day is Sunday, it is possible to visit the market of Chinchero.

9th day Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu (2.400 masl) / Cusco
Breakfast in hotel. In the morning, meeting your guide and transfer by public bus to the archaeological complex to visit Machu Picchu, lunch included (private English-speaking guide only during the visit, almost 2 hours). In the afternoon, transfer to the station on foot to take the Vistadome train to Poroy (almost 3.30-hour journey – 1st class, subject to availability). At Poroy, transfer to Cusco (30m) and lodging in the hotel. Overnight.

10th day Cusco / Lima
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima. At the arrival, meeting with our guide to visit the historical center (fee entrance to the Cathedral and San Francisco Convent are included) and the Gastronomy Museum (private service, English-speaking local guide). Lunch buffet at Nuevo Perú Restaurant. Transfer to the airport at the proper time for departure (passengers are requested to be at the airport 3 hours before international flight).

    NOTE: In Lima, in/out transfers will be assisted by our Spanish-speaking driver, except for the international arrival transfer, which is always attended by our Spanish/English-speaking personnel.

  • Vistadome train to/from Machu Picchu.
