ITINERARY

1st day | Arrival in Lima (154 masl)

Arrival at Lima’s international airport in the afternoon or night. Meeting with our personnel, transfer and
lodging in hotel (private service, English-speaking assistant). Overnight.

2nd day | Lima / Puno (3.827 masl)

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Juliaca. Upon arrival, transfer to Puno visiting
along the way the Sillustani ruins (private service, English-speaking guide). Rest of the day is at leisure to
acclimatize. Overnight.

3rd day | Puno / Ccotos

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the port and embarkation to the Ccotos community (3.15h). Arrival and stay
in the lodging houses of the community. After lunch with the villagers, they make a presentation of their
culture showing how they currently live. Then you will visit the village and its artisanal center, to then

ascend to Ancasayana, Apu (Dios) guardian of Ccotos, mystical and millenary place with archeological pre-
Incan rests. Then, you will go on sailing boats to visit the Ticonata Island (30m) to visit the site museum.

Return to Ccotos to tend fishing nets and observe the sunset on the reed beds and the immensity of the
lake. At night, dinner with the villagers (private service, English-speaking guide). Overnight.

4th day | Ccotos / Amantani Island

At dawn (5.30am), you will pick up the fishing nets and breakfast observing the rising of the sun. Then, you
will make farming activities (according to season). Before midday, you will board to Amantani Island.
Arrival and accommodation in the lodging houses of the villagers. After lunch, climb to Pacha Tata, mystical
ceremonial center of the island, where you will also experience the sunset in the lake. At night, dinner with
the villagers (private service, English-speaking guide). Overnight.

5th day | Amantani Island/ Taquile Island / Uros / Puno

After breakfast, embarkation to the Taquile Island (1.30h) to know its craftworks and the interest places.
The lunch will be accompanied with music and typical dances of Taquile. You will then board to the Uros
floating islands to see a presentation of their culture and travel in totora rafts. New embarkation to the
Puno port and transfer to the hotel (private service, English-speaking guide). Overnight.

6th day | Puno / Cusco (3.399 masl)

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to station to take the touristic bus to Cusco, lunch buffet at Sicuani (km. 380,
schedule could change: 08.00/17.00) (collective service, Spanish/English-speaking guide). Along the way,
visit the Pukara Museum, the Raqchi ruins and the chapel of Andahuaylillas. At Cusco, transfer and
lodging in the hotel. Overnight.

7th day | Cusco / Lamay (2.941 masl) / Cusco

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer from Cusco to Lamay to visit one of the mountain communities of our project
̈La Base Lamay ̈, learn about their life, traditions and contribute with the sustainable development of the
community. We will meet at La Base and coordinate the activity with the group. The community will welcome
us and teach us their traditions and traditions. We will participate in a spontaneous “farm work” and
recognize the different varieties of local crops and plants, learning also about their farming traditional tools
and techniques. After the activity, we will have a typical lunch, based on the food produced by the
community. In the afternoon, the women will share with us the art and process of weaving, very important
in their family dynamics, and we will have the opportunity to talk with them about their customs and their
role in the field. Finally, transfer to Cusco (collective service, Spanish/English-speaking guide). Overnight.

8th day | Cusco / Machu Picchu (2.430 masl) / Cusco

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Ollantaytambo’s station (almost 2-hour journey) (private service, Spanish-
speaking driver) to take the train to Aguas Calientes (almost 1.30-hour journey, subject to availability).

Upon arrival, meeting your guide and take the 30-minute shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu (shared service,
English-speaking guide). After the guided tour, the local guide will leave you and you will take the shuttle
bus descend to Aguas Calientes town. Then, walk around 5 minutes to the train station for your train back to
Ollantaytambo (almost 1.30-hour journey). Upon arrival, transfer to Cusco (almost 2-hour journey) (private
service, Spanish-speaking driver). Overnight.

9th day | Cusco / Lima

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport.
